Retired Marine Raider and Scout Sniper Cody Alford sits down with VladTV to recount his path from Texas teen inspired by Tom Berenger’s *Sniper* to an 18-year-old Marine deployed to Iraq after 9/11. Alford describes arriving through Kuwait, staging at Bahari near one of Saddam Hussein’s former palace sites, and being attached to Echo Company during the Battle of Fallujah—one of the Iraq War’s most intense urban fights. He breaks down the role of Marine snipers, the presence of foreign fighters, and how units like the 101st Airborne, Delta Force, and 2/1 Marines operated in the chaos. Alford also details the moment he was shot in the helmet on his first day inside Fallujah, the concussion and out-of-body experience that followed, and how the battle quickly proved far different from training at Camp Pendleton.
