What Have We Lost? with James Tunney

James explores what the modern West has lost by abandoning the integrated medieval worldview that united Hebraic, Hellenistic, Roman, and Hermetic traditions into a participatory sacred order visible in cathedrals, art, and daily life. He argues that this spiritual regression, driven by scientism, Marxism, the Reformation’s rejection of image and purgatory, and the reduction of soul to psyche, has deconstructed human dignity and left us vulnerable to technocratic and AI-driven ideologies that deny the person as created in God’s image. Drawing on near-death experiences, perennial philosophy, and the return of young people to religion, Tunney contends that recovering objective spiritual reality and the full anthropology of the person is essential for resisting the empire of scientism.
