Government appointments include Special Assistant for Research and Analysis to the Chief of Naval Operations. Schwartz was the principal researcher studying the use of Remote Viewing in archaeology. He is the author of more than 130 technical reports and papers. He has written The Secret Vaults of Time, The Alexandria Project, Mind Rover, Opening to the Infinite, and The 8 Laws of Change.
Here he maintains that meditation is the single best practice from which any person can derive benefit. He notes that there are now over a thousand scientific papers describing both the mental and biological benefits of meditation. He claims that, while almost all religious cultures offer some sort of meditative practice, it is possible to understand meditation entire apart from a religious context. He provides specific instructions for meditation based on his own experience of over fifty years. He concludes with a discussion of the sociological benefits of meditation.

Welcome to today's meditation session with Stephan A. Schwartz. Find a comfortable and quiet space where you can sit or lie down without any distractions. Take a few deep breaths, inhaling slowly through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Allow your body to relax and let go of any tension. Now, close your eyes and bring your awareness to your breath. Notice the sensation of the air entering and leaving your body. Feel the rise and fall of your chest and abdomen with each breath. As you continue to breathe deeply and rhythmically, imagine a place of peace and tranquility. It could be a serene beach, a lush forest, or a cozy cabin in the mountains. Picture yourself there, surrounded by beauty and calm. Allow yourself to fully immerse in this peaceful environment. Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin, the gentle rustle of the leaves in the breeze, or the soothing sound of waves crashing against the shore. As you soak in the tranquility of this place, let go of any thoughts or worries that may be weighing on your mind. Let yourself be present in the moment, fully embracing the peace and stillness that surrounds you. Stay in this serene space for a few more moments, savoring the feelings of relaxation and serenity. When you are ready, slowly bring your awareness back to the present moment. Open your eyes and take a few more deep breaths before gently returning to your day. Thank you for joining me in this meditation session. I hope you feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Have a peaceful and mindful day ahead.
