Walter von Lucadou created the Parapsychologische Beratungsstelle (parapsychological counseling office) in Freiburg, Germany, which had been for over thirty years supported as an official project by the state government of Baden-Württemberg. He is both a physicist and psychologist and has authored three books, published in German, on parapsychological topics such as Die Geister, die mich riefen: Deutschlands bekanntester Spukforscher erzählt by Walter von Lucadou.
In this interview, rebooted from 2020, he describes his work investigating poltergeist cases in Germany as well as other aspects of parapsychological counseling. He also describes his theoretical work in which he relates Jungian synchronicity to quantum entanglement, pointing out that this approach can help reduce the decline effect in parapsychology experiments. He discusses issues related to his receiving and recently losing his state funding support.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He is also the Grand Prize winner of the 2021 Bigelow Institute essay competition regarding the best evidence for survival of human consciousness after permanent bodily death. He currently serves as Co-Director of Parapsychology Education at the California Institute for Human Science.
