Born and raised in North Jersey and navigating his way through all of the pitfalls of the 1980’s, Sean is truly the personification and definition of the American Dream. Caught up in the drug epidemic of the 1980’s, Sean was able to survive the streets of Jersey and Harlem, get clean and has been clean and sober from drugs and alcohol for 28+ years. A graduate of Morris Brown College in Atlanta, GA with a BS Degree in Accounting, Sean entered the corporate world where he rose to become a Financial Analyst doing hundreds of Mergers & Acquisitions in the real estate industry totaling over $10 Billion Dollars in Sales Volume in the 1990’s. Pushing further to attain his MS Degree in Financial Management from The New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, NJ, Sean decided to leave the corporate world and hang out his own shingle.
Starting as a Business Broker facilitating the sales of small businesses, Sean eventually got his NJ Real Estate License, sold real estate for 3 years then acquired his NJ Brokers License owning and operating Gunby Realty, LLC. To make extra money during the beginning slow years, Sean taught as an Adjunct Professor teaching Pre-Algebra at Essex County College in Newark, NJ, Passaic County College in Paterson, NJ and Bergen Community College in Paramus, NJ. Additionally, Sean has been a golf caddie for over 33+ years having caddied for professional golfers on the Senior PGA Tour.
In 1999, Sean started Gunby Consulting Tax Services from zero and eventually grew that business to over 1,300 clients in 17 different states earning over $300,000+ per tax season. Put that together with his real estate brokerage company and his property management business where he invested in real estate projects for himself, Sean enjoyed a $400k+ year income and became a millionaire at age 40. However, Sean allowed money and greed to infect his mind and spirit, he became reckless and was indicted by the Feds on a “white collar” beef related to his tax business. He plead guilty and served 15 months, 15 days and 19 hours in FCI Morgantown, Morgantown West Virginia (The Feds). In federal prison, Sean “assassinated” his old self and rebuilt himself anew. He says he earned his Ph.D. in the Feds due to the amount of study he did while there.
Today, Sean has authored 2 books (aSTIGMAtism In My Soul), both on Amazon.com, and is working on a 3rd. He owns and operates his own window cleaning business and trades his own account as an Options Trader. Sean is also a single father to a 8 year old son.
