James McClenon, PhD, is a former sociology professor, licensed clinical social worker, civil engineer, and researcher. James is author of Deviant Science: The Case of Parapsychology, Wondrous Events: Foundations of Religious Belief, Wondrous Healing: Shamanism, Human Evolution, and the Origin of Religion, and The Entity Letters: A Sociologist on the Trail of a Supernatural Mystery, and coauthor with Mohammad Khodayarifard of An Iranian and American Veteran Exchange Stories and Discuss Inner Peace: We Were Thirteen. James shares how traumatic and paranormal experiences in the Vietnam War led him into the fields of parapsychology and sociology. He exchanged story writing with his coauthor, Mohammad Khodayarifard, an Iran-Iraq War veteran and mental health therapist. They have both found healing and have helped others recover from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) with self-help strategies that include meditation, writing, and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
