In this VladTV interview, Ramon “Mundo” Mendoza explains how the Mexican Mafia’s influence moved between prison and the streets, from LA County Jail and level four prisons to Folsom and San Quentin. Mendoza breaks down why the term “contract hit” often didn’t mean payment, but an obligation tied to Mafia politics, loyalty, and survival. He discusses how members once handled violence themselves before the 1990s shift toward using street gang members, Sureños, money earners, and enforcers.

Mendoza also reflects on Peg Leg Joe, insulation from violence, heroin and cocaine connections, and the changing underworld structure. Later, he recalls Alfie’s arrest in Tijuana by Baja California State Police, extradition to the U.S., and a Fresno preliminary hearing involving the Gilbert Roybal homicide, where a bizarre Mickey Rooney confession twist surfaced in court.
