Big Herc was asked to speak at the Growing Up Locked Down event at Oxnard college. “Growing Up Locked Down” (GULD), is a 3 day, multi-media, youth-driven, multi-cultural Juvenile Justice Conference in Oxnard, California.
GULD is FREE and open to the public. “Growing Up Locked Down” will include Plenaries, Keynote Speakers, Panels and Workshops with noted social justice advocates and activists, a full day of site visits to community organizations and detention alternative programs, a Celebrity Community Basketball Game, Youth Poetry Slam, Opening Night Networking Social, musical performances, and a special kick-off concert as part of the #SchoolsNotPrisons Tour.
