Financial Markets and Global Consciousness with Ulf Holmberg

Ulf Holmberg is a Swedish economist and independent researcher with a keen interest in global affairs, economics, equity markets, and the fascinating intersections of consciousness with the financial markets. He has authored several papers on the application of random event generators, and in particular those of the Global Consciousness Project, consisting of a connected network of random event generators spread throughout the world, as a forecasting tool.

Ulf discusses his investigations into how human emotional attention may influence random event generators and large-scale global systems. Drawing on data from the Global Consciousness Project, Holmberg explores correlations between collective consciousness, internet behavior, and movements in the financial markets, suggesting that emotionally significant world events may leave measurable informational traces. Holmberg also describes emerging predictive models that combine consciousness-related data with market analytics, opening provocative questions about the relationship between mind, information, and the structure of reality.
