Huichol Shamanic Healing with Gail Hayssen

Episode notes from New Thinking Allowed with Jeffrey Mishlove

Gail Hayssen hosts the Small Medium At Large podcast. She has worked as a successful subject in parapsychology experiments. She has also explored shamanistic cultures around the world. She is the recipient of an honorary doctoral degree from the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. You can reach her podcast at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCosd9J6MuxBvRP-UskejUgA

This is second in a series of interviews with Gail about the cultural practices of the Huichol Indians of Mexico. Gail shares how she first came to realize that she had cancer while high in the Sierra Madre Occidental mountains with the Huichol indians, far from civilization. She describes the shamanic healing that may have saved her life. She also discusses a series of experiences when she brought her father with her to visit the Huichols. Of special interest is her description of the Huichol corn ceremony.

New Thinking Allowed host, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, is author of The Roots of Consciousness, Psi Development Systems, and The PK Man. Between 1986 and 2002 he hosted and co-produced the original Thinking Allowed public television series. He is the recipient of the only doctoral diploma in “parapsychology” ever awarded by an accredited university (University of California, Berkeley, 1980). He is also the Grand Prize winner of the 2021 Bigelow Institute essay competition regarding the best evidence for survival of human consciousness after permanent bodily death.
