Ramon “Mundo” Mendoza sits down with Vlad to explain how his undercover work against the Mexican Mafia blurred into real criminal exposure. Mendoza says he refused to wear a wire while helping law enforcement locate murder fugitives, prevent hits, and build 32 documented homicide and drug cases. To maintain credibility, he says he began selling heroin — eventually getting arrested near the 101 after leaving West LA’s Oakwood Apartments with two kilos, money, and guns.
He also discusses contacting Gil “Chili” Avila from L.A. County Jail, bailing out through Mexican Mafia-connected bondsmen, and the dangerous fallout from a bank robbery shootout involving Gabby, Richie, Sapo, and Stony. Mendoza then revisits being pulled into the Bob Moretti homicide plot in Signal Hill while still operating undercover, raising difficult questions about policing, informants, organized crime, and accountability.
